During your 9-day break, an island awaits you that will enchant you with its uncomplicated nature and simple beauty. Your accommodation in a charming, authentic hotel is the perfect place to switch off completely. Time out!

The vast, quiet sandy beaches invite you to take beautiful walks, leaving the fast pace and to-dos of everyday life behind as the gentle waves lap your feet. The Animals

The Cape Verde Islands are one of the most important breeding grounds for humpback whales in the North Atlantic. The whale watching tours on Boa Vista offer you the special opportunity to experience humpback whales during their mating and birthing season. These majestic marine mammals, which belong to the northern hemisphere population, choose the waters around the island as their nursery, a natural phenomenon that is deeply moving. Observe how these impressive creatures interact in their natural environment, which will undoubtedly be one of the most emotional moments of your trip.

Accommodation & Catering

You will spend the night in an authentic, cozy guesthouse in Sal Rei, within walking distance of the beach and town center. With lots of flowers and palm trees, it is like a small green oasis on the beach island, which otherwise offers little greenery. But lots of sand and SEA.

The charming guesthouse is characterized by its lovingly furnished rooms and open hospitality. The ideal location allows you to explore the natural beauty of the island and spend relaxing days on the nearby, breathtaking beaches. In the midst of palm trees and flowers, the morning breakfast tastes even better and the hammocks are the perfect place to unwind... Ready for a real break?

Daily Programme

Day 1: Arrival in Boa Vista

Bom dia - Welcome to Boa Vista at Rabil airport. We will welcome you and take you to your accommodation.
On the first evening, we meet for dinner together and to get to know the other whale enthusiasts.

Day 2: Arrive and explore Sal Rei

It's time to leave the journey behind, arrive relaxed on the island and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel. It's a great opportunity to visit the small capital Sal Rei. In the evening, the organizer invites you to a briefing for the first trip out to sea and, of course, to report first-hand on the acrobats of the seas.

Day 3: Whale watching tour and relaxation

After breakfast, it's humpback whale time first thing in the morning. We set off on our first whale watching tour to meet the local heroes of the water. Our local whale watching partner is very experienced and shares the same attitude as we do: We are guests, the whales are the hosts". Respectful whale watching at its best!

In the afternoon there is time for a nice walk, time in the hammock or in one of the small cafés in Sal Rei.

Day 4: Relaxed start and whale watching tour

Free time is on the agenda in the morning: for a leisurely start to the day, relax on the beach or on the terrace and enjoy the view.

The second whale watching tour starts in the afternoon, where you will once again go in search of the fascinating humpback whales. Every day is different at sea. What gifts does it have in store today?

Day 5: Whale watching tour and personal discovery

We start first thing in the morning with a whale watching tour and spend the whole day at sea today. As there is more time, we have a wider area today and can explore other island bays to look for and find humpback whales. The tour includes a lunch snack.

Day 6: Island excursion

Today there is a full-day island excursion to explore the natural beauty of the island, including the famous desert landscapes and hidden oases.

Return in the late afternoon, evening at leisure.

Day 7: Desert by night tour

The day is at your leisure. Ideal for relaxing, reading a good book, sunbathing in the hotel or making further personal discoveries on Boa Vista. Perhaps book another trip out to sea?
In the evening, we set off together to experience the breathtaking night landscape and the starry sky, including a typical local dinner. An unforgettable experience under the clear skies of Cape Verde.

Day 8: Whale watching tour

Sleep in or spend the morning on the beach - that's up to you today after the evening tour. In the afternoon, you will go on another whale watching tour, with one last opportunity on this trip to experience the fascinating whale species in their natural habitat.

A dinner together in one of the local restaurants or some last souvenir shopping will round off this last day.

Day 9: Departure

Enjoy a last breakfast at the hotel and perhaps a short walk on the beach before you are taken to the airport and it is time to travel home.
